:( :( :( :(

As I said earlier I would, but I don't think my puny HP NL36 will handle it too well... Did you find that it made a big difference to have a faster CPU?

Right, didn't do it last night, need to find somewhere to put the computer where I have a spare network socket. So that'll be attic or under the stairs, probably attic.

Hopefully going to be able to do it tonight.

It made a bit of difference, but not hugely. The server code has been getting much more efficient, and craftbukkit is much more efficient than hey0 was.

How can we get the server files etc off you?
Then again... do we actually prize the old setup so much, or should we start from scratch?

I intend to wipe WHS and install WHS2011 first, so it might take a few days.. I don't think anyone is in a rush though by the looks of things.

What's your upload speed?

Because if the server stuff has been optimised enough then it might be down to upload speed as to which of us will be able to do the job better.

I'm at 1.3MBit up.

I'm on Virgin's 30Mbps package, with 3Mbps upload enabled.

you'd be surprised, it's half term and Jake and I have been playing on a survival server for about 1/2 the day - creepers are scary buggers

Ooh ok..
Last night I prepared my USB flash drive with the installation files for WHS 2011, I removed one of the HDD's from the storage pool so that I can copy all files to it as a normal HDD, and this evening I should be able to install WHS2011 and get it running properly, and most likely get Minecraft working too.

Kos - PM on its way to you about the files..

So what do I need?

System I'm planning on using to serve Minecraft :

AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-58
1.90GHz
1.5GB RAM
XP SP3 (bare XP install)

Cool. PM me address if you want the original server (or if you want the config file I can upload that here)

I must warn you though, Serg has been making moves to set one up too. He hasn't given me his address yet though.

Mine is Live :O

I think the spec of mine is better but Serg has more upload bandwidth.

Tell me which plugins you had on and the server config would be useful too.

wakeupbomb.no-ip.org

Shall I just copy the whitelist from above?

Whitelist should be up to date, however I think craftbukkit uses a diffrent permisions system. What server are you running? You need to download craftbukkit for most miss to work.

Wasn't too bad - still some occasional lag when adding/removing blocks, and I think always lag when interacting with animals, but my connection has been a bit crappy tonight so it may well be that rather than your end.

are you on 3 yet?

I've been on Three for ages now!

Usually get reasonable speeds and not too inconsistent, but I also occasionally get times when it seems to be stuck at original 3G / 0.3Mbps. :/
