You could always drop them if they're auto. Or not pick them up if theyr'e in a chest. Or not play on the server and stick to single player.

If anyone fancies a beach holiday there's a warp point called sandcastle :C

People with stuff helping out new people is part of the fun. :@

(Especially if it includes running around pretending to be Anneka Rice.)

And back when tools would fix themselves if you dropped them, that was fine. But now it takes so much effort to get enough diamonds for a pickaxe that most people will hoard them. Whereas, the stuff that I mine (with diamond tools because it's quicker) that I've no use for, I'm happy to give away.

Yeah, that very strange tower is nothing to do with me. I've got no idea who built it.

I think chris built that wierd tower thingy

I keep forgetting I can cheat, I have a diamond pickaxe I made from diamonds that I found but I don't like to use it much in case it wears :(

Jake likes making stuff but makes too much so he gives loads away (torches mostly)

I wish I built my thinger a bit shorter, I never thought 25 blocks would be so high - stuck with it now

The Domo thing is fantastic, but I couldn't get out of the freefall pool (then Kos killed me!)(by accident)

Yeah, that spiral staircase thing is mine. Was trying to get a good look over the place. Didn't see some of the things Xen posted tho. There's some pretty mad stuff people have created.

I kept falling off your spiral thing, never made it to the top

(if you press shift you'll 'sneak', which means going slower but not falling off things. Appologies if you already know this :$ )

I did know, and I tried, but sneak keeps you on the same block so its hard to jump etc (and easy to fuck up :( )

ahh, yeah. Of course. I always use sneak when building big things, and then I stand up to take a look at what I've done and realise that i was perched off the side of a block and promptly plummet to my death :$

I'm building a new house thing near the old house. Maybe.

The mine is going ok, especially since someone seems to have explored the dead areas already (you?) and got rid of the monsters. Woo! I might also remodel the old house a bit, it looks... rubbish.

Just a quick question. If someone buys it now and plays on a server of someone who bought it before it went Beta, what happens when another update comes out? Would people be playing different versions, or would non-update players not be allowed onto the updated servers?

Not that it bothers me, I bought it a few hours before it switched to Beta. I might have to join you at some point, although I've just discovered the Nether on my single player world and am currently continually killing myself in lava while trying to mine glowstone. I want a heated, bottom-lit swimming pool in the garden of my log cabin house.

whenever you bought it you get entitled to updates, isn't it?

Everyone who buys Minecraft will get free patches, whenever they buy/bought it.

Those that bought it in Alpha got 50% off, those in beta get 25% off.

In addition, anyone who bought Alpha will get any future extensions for free too, (whereas Beta-buyers and onwards will have to pay for those extensions).

Oh, and as for different client/server versions - that'll no doubt be like most games - i.e. they need to match, (at a functional level - using different skins is probably fine).

(The next upgrade is going to give users the choice of whether to upgrade or not, so the potential for different clients is will immediately increase anyway.)

Ah they way I read it, anyone that bought it at Alpha got any little updates, whereas anyone that bought it at Beta won't get those little updates, just the completed game when it's finished, or possibly major updates as well in the meantime.
