Prolly best to just disallow everything but teleporting and warping maybe...?

What spec is required to be able to play it at a decent speed?

Won't run a netbook quite, anything better and it'll be fine.

This laptop with a 2.2Ghz P4 Dual Core (not C2D) with intel graphics plays it fine (with fog set to pretty close :$)

Tempted to get a new laptop this year but current spec is...

Intel Core Duo T2400 (1.83GHz)
2GBtbh
Intel i945GM

Kinda netbooky I guess by todays standards.

Try the free online Classic version - it doesn't have mobs, but will at least tell you if you've got any chance of it running.

I built over half my cathedral with proper mined materials, but I had to cheat for all the torches, then I didn't stop...

I saw that :'D

I'm gonna set a warp point at the top of that. I'll do that now actually. Ok, done.

Use /listwarps to see the possible warp locations.

What's warp point?

If it is incorrectly used to identify a teleportation target I will be mildly distressed. :[

I do not see such an identification as incorrect, why is it that you do, Peter?

Calm down, Sheldon.

Ooh ooh ooh... But how about the whole /kit thing so that we can at least have diamond tools and not have to faff so much with stone ones?

I dunno, people with stuff helping out new people is part of the fun I think...?

Yeah, but have the /kit command so that it only gives you a diamond pickaxe and a diamond spade. The rest you have to work for.

How do the kits work? I was thinking of having a chest at the Spawn point filled with diamond tools,

As someone opposed to cheating, I would not want an auto diamond pickaxe.

However, starting with a stone set of tools (either auto or via a stocked chest) would be acceptable, because the wooden stuff is a pointless waste of time.

Also acceptable, hiding diamond tools in hard to discover places - maybe even leaving obscure clues around the place so it's a treasure hunt.
(So long as the clues are challenging and you can't accidentally stumble upon one of the hiding places.)

If there's a way to create redstone combination locks?

:D

I've been really impressed by what people have done so far, and no offence to anyone else at all, but Kev's Dumo thing is just jaw dropping. I LLLLLLL'd all the way up to the top and then all the way down to the bottom :'D

You could always drop them if they're auto. Or not pick them up if theyr'e in a chest. Or not play on the server and stick to single player.
