How easy is it to connect your machine direcly (bypassing the router) and seeing what happens then?

I had already done that (only i gave it EVEN MOARRR then pete suggested) - The server tells you to do it if you don't do it (message thing comes up saying "NOT ENOUG RAMOMG!! DO THIS [command] TO MAKE ME HAPPY")

I meant just as a test to see if it lets 3+ people on it.

If it does, it's the router, otherwise it's something else.

Also, you can connect to your own server - you just can't connect more than one client from the same IP.

You miss understand. My PC is the server, I use my laptop for mining. I prefer mining from the sofa :C

 

And I think it might not be as simple as I thought - I'm think that cable modems still need cross-over cables, so plugging my patch lead from my pc into the modem probably wont work mebbe.

I just installed Minecraft and it's actually causing my computer to shut down every few minutes :( I'm not too fussed as I'm sure it'll work on my Macbook, so not a waste of money, but I would like it to work on here :C

Good building work people, the base is starting to look really good. Fishbob was dead impressed with the additions to his tower that you've done :D

Jake went over in the hills to mine a bit, made his own place and also built a hiding place for anyone caught out when it gets dark

I think one of us might've been lagging, I'm not that fast... I'm tempted to build a proper house inside that courtyard, the current one is a bit meh.

 

Also, I put overhangs on the outside of the walls, because spiders kept climbing over :-@ All sorted now, we even have a tree farm :D

I see the farm, we have a lot going on, Im trying to tidy up the walls, floor, etc.
