The mandolin didn't make an appearance then? Or did you and your friend come up with a totally 'rad' Malawian subsistence farmer mandolin-backed rap or something?

Now there's a niche market.

You'll be pleased to know Mouse is now undergoing treatment at the specialist Feral Attack Recovery Trauma unit. They're giving him a 75% chance of getting back to 100% sometime soon. Our thoughts are with him.

It was, I thought, a very fine meat. Mouse's considerable inebriation has to be set in the context of he and I starting drinking at 11am, with a pint of Guinness over breakfast. We were on our third pint at the Maltings when Boff arrived (having shared his train with Wayne Sleep). He was followed shortly afterwards by Rich & Amy, Dave!! & Ricard00.

By the time Serge, Elena & Voltane arrived our annexation of the pub was more or less complete. Mouse was told off for swearing; an omen of things to come. We toddled off to the Vaults for a few, then closed our eyes, wished really hard and when we opened them again, there was the Enchanted Pub. lots of Yorkshire Puddings were consumed. It was now evening & we headed into the shambles to find the bar with free wifi that Mouse's sister had insisted we visit. Several deceptive cocktails later we returned to the Maltings for a final couple before heading back to Manthorp towers. More of that later...

Maybe you & Jon should organise a mini Cornish (Pastie) Meat. Can't pretend I'd be able to attend, but there must be few South-Westernerers.

Once again, many thanks for being a wonderful host. I feel bad that we pretty much demolished the gifts we'd brought with little help from yourself.

Incidently, if anyone wants to take up my recommendation I've got a copy of the Princess Bride I can post on.

Hopefully we're hear back from Mouse soonish? Have you had any news?

Holy shit. My diagnosis was a bit shit then - "You'll be fine in the morning...".

He's joined the exclusive broken ankle club.

What actually /happened/ to Mouse?
From: Rich22 Jun 2008 16:39

He collided with a high speed badger.

Even Mouse doesn't know. He disappeared from outside Manthorp Towers for a couple of hours, eventually knocking faintly on the door at about 3am, sodden & mucky and unable to walk.

He had been freshish on the train: he stood up once, then fell headlong onto the floor. But he seemed ok walking up from the station. Abduction by badgers seems most probable.

Were you shouted at by an irate train replacement bus driver?

That was fun.

No, but the conductor displayed a touching concern for Mouse's well-being when Mouse hurled himself onto the floor at his feet

/MY/ God that was an exciting one... could've done with a few more people, but nevertheless it was great.

Thank you very very much Steve for the hospitality (no pun intended), and hope Mouse gets better. I'll upload some pics today or sometime soon - currently I'm a bit "high" due to the amount of caffeine I consumed on the way back to London.

uh!

So I broke my promise to not drink much on Friday and spent the entire journey from my house to Serg's trying not to throw up.
Then I told Serg and Elena that was going to have a non-alcoholic drink first to ease myself back into drinking but end up ordering a pint of Black Sheep straight away.
I didn't have a non-alcoholic drink until early this morning.
So I ended up not feeling well on the journey back too. (fail)

But in between a lot of fun was had!

Thanks to Serg and Elena for the lift, tea and chocolates.
Thanks to Manthorp for the floor space, the beer, the breakfast and most importantly for not getting upset at all the triple whiskeys I seemed to finish off from the bottle Serg brought with him as a gift. :-$

Thanks to everyone else for some great company, we should do it again sometime soon-ish.

So i'll just have to browse manually (forgot you are in my friends list).

*tags himself as Rich seems to have forgotten as well*

And i'm about to shred my website usage by hosting this video of Dyl's musical prowess.

It sounds as if I sadly missed a jolly good meet.

May I once again propose a Northern Northern (Scottish) Meet, in a frantic attempt to ensure I can attend again?

I can offer a rather large floor, most probably a free doublebed room (1 flatmate should be away for a few months) and kitchen with a comfy sofa in it... most probably room for lots.

Edit: In an attempt to be as good a host as Mr Manthorp I will cook sausages the day after. They may well be from my local butcher, but they will be of the sliced sausage variety, not from linked sausages. How is that for a selling point, 40% cow fat and sinew in a roll....
