Bah! and indeed humbug!

Was supposed to be going to a mate's gig at Clapham Grand

Which is where i'm about to head off to.
Of course I can't spend much and have to steer clear of alcohol anyway as I don't think Serg wants me hungover for the drive tomorrow.
The things we do for friends.

We'll see if we can organise a London meet closer to Christmas. But not so close people are working because it's their busiest time.

Well that was a good laugh! Apart from those who are staying at Manthrob Towers, in which case it's probably still a good laugh!

I ended up spending the evening helping a friend with her MSc in environmental technology by putting together a spreadsheet to work out the optimal amount of land a Malawian subsistance farmer could use to grow cash crops (for biofuel, for example) while still producing more food than before by spending the income on fertiliser for the staple crop.

I think I'm going to dream about it :(

It was a good laugh, right up until Mouse crawled his way back from getting his ankle mangled by a feral badger, at which point it became utterly hilarious.

Well, maybe not utterly hilarious. The good news is he's mostly OK, except for the ankle. And maybe the knee.

How many nicknames does Steve need?!

The mandolin didn't make an appearance then? Or did you and your friend come up with a totally 'rad' Malawian subsistence farmer mandolin-backed rap or something?

Now there's a niche market.

You'll be pleased to know Mouse is now undergoing treatment at the specialist Feral Attack Recovery Trauma unit. They're giving him a 75% chance of getting back to 100% sometime soon. Our thoughts are with him.

It was, I thought, a very fine meat. Mouse's considerable inebriation has to be set in the context of he and I starting drinking at 11am, with a pint of Guinness over breakfast. We were on our third pint at the Maltings when Boff arrived (having shared his train with Wayne Sleep). He was followed shortly afterwards by Rich & Amy, Dave!! & Ricard00.

By the time Serge, Elena & Voltane arrived our annexation of the pub was more or less complete. Mouse was told off for swearing; an omen of things to come. We toddled off to the Vaults for a few, then closed our eyes, wished really hard and when we opened them again, there was the Enchanted Pub. lots of Yorkshire Puddings were consumed. It was now evening & we headed into the shambles to find the bar with free wifi that Mouse's sister had insisted we visit. Several deceptive cocktails later we returned to the Maltings for a final couple before heading back to Manthorp towers. More of that later...

Maybe you & Jon should organise a mini Cornish (Pastie) Meat. Can't pretend I'd be able to attend, but there must be few South-Westernerers.

Once again, many thanks for being a wonderful host. I feel bad that we pretty much demolished the gifts we'd brought with little help from yourself.

Incidently, if anyone wants to take up my recommendation I've got a copy of the Princess Bride I can post on.

Hopefully we're hear back from Mouse soonish? Have you had any news?
