Meaty Meat Meat - 20th, 21st, 22nd June Camping in Malham

If you google for "St Chartier" you will see why.

It's a small French mediaeval town that gets turned into an amazing European traditional music festival once a year. It is the best party anywhere ever, as far as I am aware, especially if you like cider and cheese and playing and dancing and mediaeval raves and all that.

Well, seeing as Dyl appears to have found the best excuse ever (mediaeval rave indeed) what else?

And were we just on about doing it for one night? Sjust that I have lots of Fridays busied. What about Sat 28th and Sun 29th of June?

Dan, if you book the sun, it will come. Oh yes, it will come.

Give me enough notice and I can do mostly any weekend in Jun/July/August. Nowt planned yet.

Bah, why do just one night?

Anyway, my days of being occupied this year are 4-6th June (will be in Edinburgh) and sometime in November (will be in Australia), so other than that I can do any time once I have sufficient notice.

June would probably be better for me, but my graduation is on Monday 30th :(

Because the mature human body can only endure that much time without the necessities of civilisation. Alcohol alone does not suffice to anaesthetise the body against the rigours of life under canvas.

Plus, there is only so much anal rape that one man can take.

Where you staying in Embra? Work or pleasure?

Both. :)

It's a CF conference which I'd be going to anyway, but the Director said the company would send me.

Don't know if work will also do accomodation... if they do it'd likely be the conference hotel (The George), else I'd opt for a B&B at 1/3rd the price.

a B&B will likely be 1/100000th the price of the George!

I do a bit of work next to The George, and I live next to loads of handy B&Bs. I'd offer you the spare room, but I'm not sure if we'll have actually bought a bed for it or not by then :D

The conference is getting discounted rates so it's "only" £124 / £139 for single/double occupancy.
Stayed in a place in Stockbridge last time, £40 a night with good breakfasts, so I'd probably return to the same place.

If you need help setting up the spare room let me know - as Fozza can confirm, I have lots of great ideas. :D

:D

Ahaha, I know what I want in it (and where it's going), I just don't have the cash to buy the stuff yet.

Have been away from the forum for far too long, would like to meet you lot again apart from random london pubs :P :)

Camping thing sounds awesome, i've wanted it for years but half of my friends seem allergic to tents/nature so it never happened... :(

i'd love to come, only two things:

need date to book time off:

Need transport... can get myself to approximate area via train but need a lift, i do not have a driver licence :(

Well... I am going to repeat the date: Sat 28th and Sun 29th of June because only Boff came up with a lame graduation excuse on the 30th and I'm not even sure that lad will graduate... He handed me a really ropey paper on how piano strings interact at the last meat and I've given it a D-

Poor lad, he showed so much hope :(

Fuck you, I got 80% for that!

And an A in my last report :(

Although placement marks got slightly buggered up by broken leggedness :((

:'(

I will check with the boss & get back to you.

I will be driving up by car and could ferry up to four people from and to Skipton railway station, assuming their camping requisites will fit more or less on their laps.

I will not be partaking due to the forthcoming addition to the family.

Wouldn't be fair on the Mrs.

Ooh, this idea all seems rather fun. I've not camped since I was about 13, so it should be hideous quite interesting. Dates look alright too. Would need to run it past the missus (who I think will find the prospect scary on many levels)

So I think that all amounts to a "maybe" for me.

Hmm, I may not frequent the forum much these days, but the thought of shitting in a field appears to have brought me crawling out of woodwork...
