I can see Fozza being the mid-air cannon fodder.
Oh and apparently IL-2 1946 contains every IL-2 game, expansion and patch (apart from the few patches after its release) in one DVD disc game, all together in one install.
Wow that's Less than £12 on Amazon.
If people are serious about this then I will get it.
What joystick is worth buying for it?
I don't think the Spitfire was ever in IL-2, but I could be wrong as I never had all the expansions. I believe the did add the Hurricane at some point though.
It was a Russian WWII flight sim though, and that seemed to make it better in a way as everyone would pick a different random flying machine to go to battle in, as no one had a clue what was good and what wasn't.

Anything listed is flyable. It's more interesting flying obscure Russian things usually though. I used to love doing torpedo runs in an IL-2.
I still play CS:S quite a bit. If anyone else has played the GunGame mod, they can probably attest that with the right settings it's insanely fun. I have, for instance, dragged Woggy, into a game or two of it and he seemed to enjoy it. I would highly recommend it.
The idea is you start with a glock and each kill you get you move on to a slightly more powerful weapon until you're at the grenade and then the knife. You have to get a kill with the weapon for the level you're on (i.e. level 1 you need a glock kill to advance to USP) My personal favourite settings are deathmatch (makes it more hectic and less irritating when you die since there's no waiting about), 5 kills per level to advance and turbo mode on (when you get a kill with the correct weapon, the next one appears in your hands with full ammo, leading to rampages if you're on a roll).
I agree that we need a bit of CS:S in the mix .
(Thinking DOD:S too)
However the idea is to play some random stuff and maybe some old stuff too, so it doesn't turn into a FPS fest.
Other suggestions?
