Oh. Did you used to live there, or did I completely make that up in my head?

I've lived in north london, south london and west london but never closer than mid-zone 2 I suppose. But my social life has gradually worked its way west in the past few years, that's all. So I tend not to have so many reasons to end up in the middle, it's not like many of the shops aren't duplicated elsewhere.

Hey, I'm in Farringdon tomorrow night for Cat Power though.

I want to go to the Oort cloud, or the Kuiper belt; either would do.
When do we leave? :D

I didn't even know she was touring!

The new album's been sort of bubbling under on my "I should probably buy it eventually" list - I heard the title track and it was a bit odd to hear a full band with slick production, and so I was a bit meh.

Hopefully she won't flip out and destroy the entire venue or anything.

I think it's a one-off or something. Can't remember. What's the new album? The Greatest? It's pretty good, no You Are Free but better than some of the others. Yeah, I'm hoping that in the slightly sophisticated surrounds of the Barbican she doesn't manage to get too drunk to play at all, like last time I tried to seeum.

I'm getting more likely to be there, it seems!

I want to! Just to confirm - it's at the Fitzroy Tavern right? :$

I'm trying to work out the way, if I went on the TUBES it seems there are CRAZY TUBES on that day and I would need to get a thousand buses. But I'm so certain I'd found a route that was all trains and got me there XD *still looking*

Aha, if it is then it's Charing Cross I can get too ^_^ It doesn't look that far, but then again, London is very big :O

It's walkable from Charing Cross without tooo much hassle, but it'd be quicker if the northern line is working to catch that up to Goodge Street.

:C

I don't mind walking! Train is every half hour ( I have never been to Waterloo before though - so I am looking forward to being quite shocked at it's side! THERE IS AN EAST AND A WEST WATERLOO :O ), I shall just try not to get mugged :&

Well what a pain in the bum for all concerned. Waterloo? I thought you said you were coming into Charing Cross? Well it's only a quick walk over the river between 'em anyway.

Bournemouth -> Waterloo (it's pretty much the ONLY train from Bournemouth.. nice though!), and change there to Charing Cross!

Excuse my utterly terrible knowledge of THAT LONDON, but this near Oxford Street? Tottanham Court Road? I think it is! I have been lost there many times. I have also been lost by Harrods and the V&A. And by /both/ Tates. I even forgot what side of the river I was on once and nearly missed the ride home :'(

When I say near - I just mean - in that area of London. When I get lost I get awesomely lost, so even if it is two+ miles from there, I have probably been there before (fail)

*very good at asking for directions*

Right. Don't take the train from Waterloo to Charing Cross. It's not far enough to not feel silly. Well, you can if you want, but you can see one station from the other just about. Just cross over the footbridge next to the Wheeeeeel. That's to Embankment, then up you go. It's more or less a straight line then. The Fitzroy is off've Tottenham Court Road, a wee ways up from Oxford Street (but not the Oxford Circus end of Oxford Street! The Tottenham Court Road one!).

Aaah, they did look very close yes! I may buy the ticket to Charing Cross (£1 extra the most :D) because if I'm back late it's less far to walk/get eaten during, but walking accross the happy-bridge and staring at the wheel sound fun for the way there!

And that's cool - I think I've actually walked past where it is then!

What time do most people finish up? I can leave pretty late with the trains! Buses stop in town about 8pm, so it's a cab from the station either way

It varies. I've been there at chucking-out time a few occasions, but I've generally regretted that the next morning!

I don't think there is normally a finishing time - people tend to slope away gradually as the afternoon/evening/night goes on.
