The directory structure is do deep (folder within folder within folder within folder)
I think there is a limit to how deep a structure can be when moving or copying.
yeah, that's what I thought. How do I get around it?
It's a network drive, so I can't make the address any smaller! The main file folder is already mapped to B:\ - and that's where I'm tying to put the files, so going by that, the directory is onlt 3 characters long!
the file, for instance, is on my desktop, but have tried it from the C:\ root
I've tried it on a different PC, and it was fine!
I'm wondering if it's anything to do with the network setup?
My setup is...
adsl router plugged into an ethernet switch. Plugged into this is a) the network drive and b) the wireless gateway.
When i try doing it from the wirless laptop, error occurs. When i try doing it from a wired desktop (plugged directly into the switch) it works.
If so, what can i have as a workaround? I can't think of anyway of wiring it that doesn't involve buying more hardware (which aint going to happen).
I do have a wireless router, which I can't use as a router (no modem in it). I used to use it as a gateway, until I got a proper one.
I mentioned something about this the other day; would I be able to have the wirless router (as a gateway) elsewhere in the house, with the drive attached to that?
