I think this has been mulled over in the past, so feel free to refer me to O.L.D. threads, but I would value the introduction of a 'like' button or similar. I use it a lot in FB, as I do the 'favourite' button in Twitter, whem I want to express my sympathy with a post but don't have anything much to add to it. Has this been thrashed out in the past, or am I making it up? If it hasn't, what are the arguments pro & con?

It has, and I think I suggested it at one point.
If I remember rightly the suggestion against it was (from a Teh POV) it could mean there's even less posts than usual.
I do still think it should be added though, similar to the "Thanks" feature on other BB software. That's if Matt has any interest these days about Beehive being an alternative to other software.

Perhaps we could introduce some kind of points/reward system for helpful posts. Perhaps with some kind of dragony theme to it.

This
chap has a massive cock. Quite impressive. A lesser man might be intimidated, but I respect him for it.

Teh has always seemed busy enough to me; just at a more discursive pace than social media. That's an essential of its charm and its value.
But it does add another option for courtesy to be able to express that you value or agree with a post, without adding a new post. But it's no biggie.
