I wasn't saying that; I don't get how your opinion can change so drastically.
Were you drunk or wearing sunglasses or something for the first visit?

Why awkward? Had your dad already seen/approved the place?

I probably wasn't looking at things as closely the first day and I wasn't pulling stuff out, at least not the kitchen units, just the ceiling. And I found it a little funny how cluttered and packed the whole house was. I think after working in the house for a couple of days with the smell and the dirt I realised just how shitty it really is.

Yes he had. He has to see every job before we start.

I don't think any house will look messy now.
The guy who looks after the fitters went with my dad today. He told the owner it's a health risk and to take everything out and disinfect everything. We're going back tomorrow with disposable overalls and masks. And 3 sticks of dynamite.

Holey shipping feck! (And that's a very toned down reaction from my original one)
I've never actually seen anything like that. Ever. Not even on TV. I wouldn't touch that place with a bargepole until it's emptied and nuked, too much risk of mould/etc hidden away. Urgh, now I need a shower just because I looked at it...

What Serg said.
That is an unholy fuck cloud of filth.
Though I'd be having away with that Wallace and Gromit poster if I were you. Make a nice present for the kids, that would.

Yup. Not nice there
:(
I don't know why my dad didn't wall straight out the first time he went there. Maybe it didn't look so bad during his quick visit and I think there might have been more junk covering up some of the worst mess.
So not looking forward to going back. I really hope they've cleaned it properly. If not I might be walking out again even with my overalls on. I'll take a bottle of bleach and sprayer with me too.
Maybe I could be rude to them and get chucked out instead.
