I'm currently working with supercool dutch artfag
Jaap de Jonge on a digital artwork for supercool British
Mind the Gap theatre's new headquarters in
Urban Splash's supercool development of Lister Mills in Bradford.
The piece will be two or possibly three installations of high spec webcams pointing at marked out 'frames', one on a wall, one on the floor. Members of the cast and visitors will be able to make 'comic strips' of still photos by posing within the frames while one of them - the 'director' captures still images using a simple bespoke UI and streamed video feed on a wireless tablet. When a strip is completed it's uploaded to an information server as a folder. The folders will be played randomly on LCD information screens across the building.
I have a programmer committed to doing the project, but I've made several attempts to contact him since Christmas and he's not got back to me. Just supposing he's cooled off about doing the work, would anybody in teh Possie be interested in the job? It's worth £4.5k, but that has to be utterly utterly inclusive for the job done, up and working.
My programmer may email me tomorrow and this post will come to nothing, I'm afraid; but it would be good to know whether anybody was up for it if he's not playing. I can send lots more detail, including proposed kit, to anybody who thinks it might be fun.
