Take a chance, you wasted talent!
I gave up shoveling chips for drunks to do tech phone support for AOL with lower pay, but I knew I had to move in that direction somehow or give in to a life of tedium. My boss even offered me a job managing a new fast food franchise with big pay, company car etc. but I knew if I did that I'd never move on so I turned it down.
When I joined AOL I didn't know how to connect 2 PCs together and look at me now - I still don't know how, but for some reason I ended up IT manager. I would probably be on more money right now if I took the fast food job, but right now I love what I do, I get real job satisfaction and with the experience gained, my prospects are great.
So Matt, as the wise people say, get a job doing what you like and you'll never have to do a day's work in your life. Or do you have your eye on that Assistant Regional Store Display Manager job?
